With the IT growing Information and Network security is becoming increasingly important, however there is a growing realisation that Pakistani security resources are very scarce. At the moment there are only 2 companies specialising in IT security, PakCERT a security research company and Xnet Solutions a manufacturer of hardware firewalls. This is clearly not enough, although many consultancies do work in the security field

The PTA allows Pakcom Limited (parent company of Instaphone) to pay the license renewal fee of $291 million in installments over 15 years.
